Ad Recovery Is Surprisingly Strong: No. 1 Analyst

Alexia Quadrani of JPMorgan was named the top publishing and advertising analyst by Institutional Investors’2010 All-America Research Team survey Thursday. She shared her sector outlook and best plays.

“The ad recovery is so strong right now and I don’t think anyone would have anticipated this kind of recovery,” Quadrani told CNBC.

Quadrani said she’s also seeing advertising shift from traditional media to newer media, which should benefit the digital space.

“But right now, everything’s growing—even the stuff that’s secularly challenged, such as radios and magazines,” she said.

Even "newspapers are looking for less bad results…they are showing better numbers." But, she added, "they’re still in negative territory and that’s the one exception.”
