Intel announced on Friday a 15 percent dividend hike, noting that the company remains on track to have its best year ever.

Intel's quarterly dividend will increase by 2.25 cents to 18 cents a share, starting with the first quarter of 2011.

Dividend paying stocks are usually favored by value investors, who seek to limit any potential pullback in the market by locking in dividend income.
