Pops & Drops: Mattel, Iron Mountain...
Following are moves you might have missed. Find out why shares of Mattel popped while Iron Mountain and TRW Automotive dropped.
POPS (stocks that jumped higher)
Mattel (MAT) popped 3%. The latest 13F filing showed activist investor Carl Icahn bought 2.4 million shares of the company in the third quarter.
DROPS (stocks that slid lower)
Iron Mountain (IRM) dropped 4%. Investors ran for the exits after learning that Warren Buffet trimmed his stake in the company this past quarter. - But it rallied off the lows, reminds Pete Najarian.
TRW Automotive (TRW) dropped 6%. The company said its management as well as its largest investor planned to sell about 10 million shares of stock. - I like the stock long-term but short-term I think there's more room on the downside, says Guy Adami
Perfect World (PWRD) dropped 17%. The online video game operator's fourth-quarter sales forecast disappointed investors. - It's not an expensive company; I'd pick my spots, says Tim Seymour.
Jacobs Engineering (JEC) dropped 5%. Earnings missed estimates and the firm said it’s backlog of new orders was down 13 percent. - No surprise by the action here, says Simon Baker.
