Pops & Drops: Hormel, Adobe...

Following are moves you might have missed. Find out why shares of Hormel and popped while Adobe and DSW dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Hormel (HRL) popped 3%. The company said that fourth-quarter net income rose 17 percent on better prices for turkey and lower grain costs. - Scott Nations doesn't have a trade.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

Adobe Systems (ADBE) dropped 4%. Investors are growing concerned that Corporate America has been slow to upgrade to Adobe’s new Creative Suite 5 software. - I think it could go down more, says Tim Seymour.

Valero Energy (VLO) dropped 2%. Investors worried about the company’s margins amid chatter that demand for commodities may fall broadly. - This is one of my least favorite names in the space, says Joe Terranova. But I would look at Sunoco or HolyCorp.

Brocade (BRCD) dropped 10% - The company forecast first-quarter revenue and profit below market expectations; also JPMorgan cut its price target on the stock to $7. - I'd stay away from this one, says Pete Najarian.

Walgreen (WAG) dropped 3% - The move was likely triggered by short-term traders taking profits after the stock moved higher earlier in the week. - I'd much rather be long CVS, says Karen Finerman.

DSW (DSW) dropped 2%. Investors took profits in the wake of strong earnings after the stock made a 52-week high.

Flower Foods (FLO) dropped 1%. Deutsche downgraded the company to ‘Hold’ from ‘Buy’ citing valuation and earnings risk from input costs.
