Brian Kelly: Jobs Report Isn't 'That Bad'

The jobs number may have sent many market bulls running for the exits Friday morning, but not "Fast Money" trader Brian Kelly.

Though the US economy added just 39,000 jobs in November — compared to economists' expectations of more than 140,000 — the Kanundrum Capital founder saw reasons to remain bullish.

“The jobs number wasn’t that bad,” Kelly said. “The price of labor is at least stagnating or going down, so that will lead to more hiring… And money is going to be printed to improve the economy anyway, so what are we all worried about?”

Meanwhile, Karen Finerman of Metropolitan Capital Advisors was looking at the coal trade. A holder of Western Coal, she's happy with Walter Energy’s $3.3 billion takeover of the Canadian company. In light of the deal, Finerman said she doesn't see a top in the coal market anytime soon.

“I will see if this has any relevance for Massey,” she added.

Elsewhere in the market, Trutina Financial's Patty Edwards was focused on the upcoming deadline for the Build America Bond program and the related sales spike in municipal bonds. Muni sales approached a five-year high Friday as state and local governments tried to issue debt before the program expired.

“There is a lot of muni issuance going on right now,” said Edwards.
