Should US Companies Do Business in Iran Through Subsidiaries?

Unilateral US sanctions passed by Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama on July 1 essentially disallow companies from doing business with both the US and Iran. At least in theory.

One way around the sanctions is by operating through a foreign subsidiary. But is that a good idea? What do you think? Should American companies be able to do business in Iran through foreign subsidiaries?
