Authorities are investigating a number of cyber attacksagainst companies seen as opponents of controversial website WikiLeaks. Despite the fiasco, which companies are most likely to benefit from the attacks? Mark Mahaney, Internet research managing director at Citigroup, shared his best plays.

Trading the WikiLeaks Fiasco
A look at companies that might actually benefit from the hacker attacks exploding on the web, with Mark Mahaney of Citigroup and CNBC's Eamon Javers.

“The e-commerce companies and the companies that have pulled back contributions to WikiLeaks are the losers,” Mahaney told CNBC.

To date, WikiLeak’s victims include Visa , MasterCard , eBay and Amazon.com .

“There are a few potential winners such as Akamai , which helps companies fend off these kinds of attacks, and Verisign , which has a small business in [preventing] the denial-of-service attacks,” suggested Mahaney.
