This is a transcript of top stories presented by China's CCTV Business Channel as produced by CNBC Asia Pacific.
Good evening, I'm Saijal Patel from CNBC and you're watching "Asia Market Daily".
2010 has been a big year for the tech space, with the launch of Apple's iPad and Samsung's Galaxy Tab.
So as we herald in the holiday season, we decided to check out the top tech toys that are 'must-haves' this Christmas.
The item that took the world by storm this year is the tablet sparked by Steve Jobs' iPad.
Initially lampooned for its less-than-sexy name, the Apple iPad's success has spurred competitors like HP and even RIM to come up with their own versions.
A competing tablet worth checking out is Samsung's Galaxy Tab. Besides being smaller and lighter than the iPad, it is Adobe Flash-compatible and functions as a phone as well!
The next hot item is Sony's Nex-5 — a powerful compact camera with an interchangeable lens system.
Almost as powerful as a DSLR minus the size, making it a handy companion for your year-end holiday trip.
And what is a holiday without some fun?
Motion-based gaming, which was popularized by Nintendo's Wii a few years back, gets an update.
Microsoft's Kinect allows for untethered play that is sure to interest kids from one to 92.
Finally, if you're planning to start the year with a new smartphone — you're spoilt for choice when it comes to which operating system to pick.
From Apple's iPhone OS to Google's Android to the latest offering from Microsoft — the Windows Phone 7, all of them are touting more intuitive interfaces than their earlier incarnations.
And there you have it, we've made the list, now you check it twice.
Thanks for watching "Asia Market Daily".
