The Carstache ... A White Elephant Hit
CNBC Correspondent
One of the things I try to do with this blog is highlight small, funny businesses started by entrepreneurs who hope to cash in on a good laugh.
Like Carstache.
Last September I blogged
about the mustaches-for-cars businesscreated by Ethan Eyler, who got the idea while stuck in traffic.
Well...
My lovely and talented colleague, Courtney Reagan, notified me that the Carstache became the hit gift at her annual family White Elephant exchange. In the exchange, people bring a gift they want to, er, dispose of. At Courtney's house, everyone draws numbers. The person with the first number picks a gift and opens it. The next person can either pick another gift to open, or steal a gift that's already been opened.
As for the Carstache? Courtney says it was a gift given to "my wacky cousin Mark," which he promptly entered into the White Elephant exchange. "It quickly became the most stolen gift...my 89-year-old grandma even got in on the stealing action."

Courtney has a lot of cousins.
So who ended up with the carstache? Grandma Rosie, who plans to sport it on her Lexus sedan.
My work here is done.
