HP Announces a Palm Event for February

Hewlett-Packard on Tuesday afternoon announced that it will hold an event in San Francisco on February 9 at 10 a.m. to announce new developments in its mobile strategy.

The announcement came with the headline: "HP - Think big. Think small. Think beyond."

HP bought Palm last year for $1.2 billion and has said it will use the software for all of its smartphones and a consumer tablets. The HP event will come after a tablet-focused Consumer Electronics Showin early January and an expected Apple event later this month with a new version of the iPad. The event also occurs a week before Mobile World Congress, the annual global wireless show in Barcelona.
