Yum Brands plans to sell its Long John Silver's and A&W restaurant chains.

The company, whose other brands include Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC, announced Tuesday that it has begun looking for a buyer.

Yum says Long John Silver's and A&W All-American Food restaurants do not fit into its long-term strategy.

Instead, it is focusing its energy on expanding Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and KFC in the U.S. and international markets such as China.

Long John Silver's and A&W account for 1,630 of Yum's more than 37,000 restaurants worldwide.
