TAKE YOUR POSITION: AMAZON

The next big test for tech comes Thursday after the close when the market hears from Amazon , which has retreated slightly from trading near all time highs.

How should you trade?

I’m negative, says BGC Partners analyst Colin Gillis. Revenue growth isn’t scaling into operating income growth. Also the valuations are outrageous; if you used the same multiple as Apple Amazon would be about $52. In addition I find their competitive position is mediocre – they only have leadership in e-books.
