Sales, Traffic Are Up: Buffalo Wild Wings CEO

The size of the average check and in-store traffic are both up, the CEO of Buffalo Wild Wings, Sally Smith, told CNBC Wednesday.

“Selling wings is a significant portion of our business: We sold 5 ½ million traditional and bone-in wings during Super Bowl 2010. And overall, the average check and guest are count up," said Smith.

Given that the restaurant chain has added 85 new locations last year, Smith expects the company to sell substantially more wings this weekend. Super Bowl Sunday is company’s biggest sales day of the year.

Shares of the fast-food chain were up 2 percent on Wednesday.

Smith added that the company is hiring, for both the field and the home office.
