'Mutiny' on Ryanair Flight Gets Students Thrown Off
More than 100 students were removed from a Ryanair flight by Spanish police Sunday after refusing to carry out crew instructions following a dispute over a baggage fee, the BBC reported.
Most of the students were stranded in the Canary Islands after being unable to find or afford other flights, the BBC said.
The University of Brussels students "mutinied" after one was charged a carry-on bag fee by the low-cost Irish carrier, the BBC reported, citing Spanish newspaper La Provincia.
"Following further disruptive behaviour, the police required for security reasons that this entire group be refused travel," Ryanair said in a statement.
