Ed Burns will play an unemployed former Bear Stearns employee in a new series produced by the creator of Entourage.

The show will feature Burns in the role of a guy who was "making over 2 million a year but has now been out of work for almost a year," according to Nellie Andreeva at Deadline Hollywood.

In Hollywood speak, "out of work" is virtually synonymous with "sympathetic."

It's enough to make you wonder if the image of Wall Street may be coming full circle: Perhaps unemployed Wall Street guys are no longer seen as predatory victims of their own excess, but merely as pitiful fellow rich guys.

I'm not sure which is worse.
