AFTER HOURS ACTION: MICRON

The Fast traders put Micron on the radar after the tech company posted quarterly results well above expectations after aggressive sales growth more than offset falling memory chip prices.

By the numbers, the top U.S. maker of memory chips for computers and mobile devices said revenue in its fiscal second quarter was $2.3 billion, up from $2.0 billion in the year-ago period. That was better than the $2.07 billion expected on average by analysts, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

What’s the trade?

Guy Adami says valuations look fair. “I think it tries to go to $12,” he says.

PORTUGAL PROBLEMS

The euro sank on Wednesday as Portugal's prime minister resigned after his government's austerity measures were voted down in parliament.

What should you make of it?

Brian Kelly thinks in the big picture, this may clear the way for the ECB to raise interest rates. The news may turn out to be euro positive and dollar negative. "I’d be long euro against the dollar," says Kelly.
