He didn't get a million followers in record time like Charlie Sheen, but the Bronx Zoo Snakehas developed a following of over 50,000 on Twitter as of this writing in a 24-hour period.

That's a record for a reptile.

@BronxZoosSnakebases his/her musings on the potential hijinx and tour of the Big Apple which a real cobra may be experiencing, after escaping from the Bronx Zoo(if I was in the Bronx I'd want to escape, too, heh heh).

No one cares about the real snake anymore, even though it's poisonous. Instead, America is going ga ga over the Twitter snake's poison pen. My favorite tweet came Monday night: "It's getting pretty cold out. I think it's probably time to crash. Oh look, an apartment window someone left open just a crack. Perfect!" A close second: "If one more person on the street asks me, 'Do you like comedy?' someone's getting bit."

Now we have proof the snake has really "made it." He's been interviewed by Time. When asked how he got away, the cobra slyly replied, "Let's just say it involved a paper clip, chewing gum and an old episode of MacGyver."
