Halftime: 4 Market Movers to Watch

Stocks pared losses after a successful Treasury note auction, but remained weak amid mixed economic news, and despite a lift in energy shares by an upbeat report on commodities from Goldman Sachs.

The "Fast Money" traders, though, were watching these market movers by midday trading:

POPS (stocks that went higher)

El Paso (EP) popped 7%: Shares soared after news the energy firm would split into two companies, one focusing on exploration and production and a second on the pipeline business, Trutina Financial's Patty Edwards reports. She thinks it makes a "fabulous" amount of sense.

The company also raised its earnings outlook for the year.

DROPS (stocks that went lower)

Amazon.com (AMZN) dropped 1%: Joe Terranova of Virtus Investment Partners recommends buying this stock on any significant pullback.

"It's got the growth story. It's got the international growth story," Terranova said. "I would not be selling it."

Zipcar (ZIP) dropped 3%: While Zachary Karabell of RiverTwice Capital likes this rental car company's services, he thinks it's "a very richly valued company." He thinks it's another "hot" initial public offering that's "coming back down to earth."

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store (CBRL) dropped 9%: While this restaurant chain operator struggles, other chains are doing well, Kanundrum Capital's Brian Kelly said. He would consider Darden Restaurants , for example, which operates the Olive Garden and Red Lobster brands, among others.
