CNBC would not be what it is today without Mark.

In its history, many people have come and gone at CNBC, but you always knew Mark would be there.

He was an original. In every sense. As a producer, what I loved about Mark was that he was truly authentic, and never pretended to be anything but who he was.

All he ever cared about was that people thought he was fair.

When I was an executive he would only begrudgingly take my call, which always made me laugh. But that's why he was so great. He never worried what "the suits" thought. Only the viewers. As it should be.

Jeff Zucker was named president and chief executive officer of NBC Universal in February 2007 and held that post until January, 2011.
