Microsoft Analyst Day Gets Underway
After a rough year for the stock, does Microsoft have a chance of getting back on top? Insight with Brendan Barnicle, Pacific Crest Securities senior analyst.

The senior analyst at Pacific Crest Securities said Microsoft has a history of being a "fast follower," and its new Windows 8 operating system, among other products, may allow Microsoft to "make some inroads against Android and the Android tablet. I can't see them, at least in the near term, make any inroads against Apple."

Window 8, he told CNBC, "is probably one of the most exciting opportunities they've got" and "there's some interest things" about Microsoft's Office 365 software. Barnicle said the company's dividend increase, if there is one, would be less than people expect.
