Many customers that placed orders online at Target.com for Missoni for Target are now receiving an email from the discount retailer saying their shipments are delayed or worse — they will be cancelled altogether.

Shopping website 'Racked' reports that their inboxes have been flooded with Target customers who received the following email from the big box retailer:

“We’re sorry, but we may not be able to deliver your item(s) by the estimated delivery date you received with your original order...If we can’t deliver your items(s) by this new estimated delivery date, we will automatically cancel your order.”

Customers can approve deliveries after the delayed delivery date by going online and signing up for this option. Customers that don’t will be automatically refunded.

A statement from Target confirms the unprecedented demand both in stores and online has affected the shipment and delivery of select guest orders.

“Providing an exceptional guest experience is incredibly important to Target, and we have a team dedicated to addressing those guests who have been affected.”
