Solar Swoon

Monday, 19 Sep 2011 | 5:40 PM ET

Over the past week or so, it seems investors have been running for the exits in solar with TAN down about 6% over that period.

A series of negative headlines may have something to do with the sell-off.

SMA Solar, the world's biggest maker of solar inverters, slashed full-year targets only days after its chief executive called the outlook challenging, confirming fears the industry bellwether was not immune to falling demand

And in China events turned violent amid reports that Jinko Solar had been leaking toxic waste from its factory. According to published reports, the firm has been failing pollution tests since April.

Are there any bright spots in the industry? How should you trade the space now?

Get all the details from Gordon Johnson of Axiom Capital Management. Watch the video now!

Inside Solar's Swoon
Some 70% of solar demand comes from Germany and Italy, says Gordan Johnson, Axiom Capital.
