Virginia McGathey, President of McGathey Commodities, began her career in 1975 as a runner at the CBOE. She became an options member trading for her own account. Then in 1984, she moved to the CBOT, now the CME Group. In 1986 she founded McGathey Commodities, a brokerage execution company at the CME Group, trading Futures and Options on all grain products. McGathey Commodities has grown from a one broker operation to the current staff of five brokers and three assistants which supports their global customer base. McGathey Commodities is truly a family operated business, currently employing Virginia McGathey's three nephews, two brothers, and one niece. Virginia McGathey served as Chairwoman of the Commodity Option Members’ Committee, elected 5 times consecutively. For the last three years, Virginia has taped the Daily Market commentary for the CME Group website.
