Highest Dividend Yields of the Dow

Twenty-two of the thirty Dow components have dividend yields greater than the 10-year US treasury, which yields around 2.06 percent.

The average dividend yield of the Dow stands at 2.88 percent, down 41 basis points from October 3, when the index closed near a thirteen-month low. Since then, the Dow has gained 1,003 points or 9.4 percent, which has pushed yields lower.

In the past three months, five Dow components announced dividend increases: Chevron, Intel, McDonald's, Microsoft and Verizon, bringing the count of companies rewarding investors with higher payments to 21 so far this year.

Additionally, AT&T andVerizon continue to be the highest-yielding stocks since the beginning of the year.
