Eight Candidates Confirm CNBC Debate Participation

CNBC announced that eight candidates have confirmed participation in "Your Money, Your Vote: The Republican Presidential Debate." The debate takes place Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 8 p.m. ET.

Hosted by CNBC, the Michigan Republican Party and Oakland University, the debate will focus on key issues facing voters —jobs, taxes, the deficit, and the economy. CNBC’s Maria Bartiromo and CNBC’s Chief Washington Correspondent John Harwood will moderate.

Confirmed participants, in alphabetical order:

• Michele Bachmann, U.S. Representative from Minnesota
• Herman Cain, Former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza
• Newt Gingrich, Former Speaker of the House
• Jon Huntsman, Former Governor of Utah
• Ron Paul, U.S. Representative from Texas
• Rick Perry, Governor of Texas
• Mitt Romney, Former Governor of Massachusetts
• Rick Santorum, Former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania

CNBC will broadcast the debate live from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

Bartiromo and Harwood will be joined by CNBC’s Jim Cramer, host of “Mad Money w/Jim Cramer,” and a panel of CNBC experts including CNBC’s Senior Economics Reporter Steve Liesman, CNBC’s On-Air Editor Rick Santelli and CNBC’s Senior Commodities & Personal Finance Correspondent Sharon Epperson, who will also question the candidates about the major policy issues.

CNBC’s coverage will kick off with a special edition of “Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer” at 6 p.m. ET followed by a pre-debate program, “Your Money, Your Vote,” beginning at 7 p.m. ET and anchored by CNBC’s Carl Quintanilla live from the site of the debate.

Immediately following the live debate, Quintanilla will be joined by CNBC reporters and guests to highlight and examine issues debated by the candidates. CNBC’s Larry Kudlow, anchor of “The Kudlow Report” will be live from CNBC headquarters to break down the issues and provide analysis of the candidates' debate performance. The post-debate program, also entitled “Your Money, Your Vote,” will broadcast until 11 p.m. ET.

CNBC.com, for the first time, will offer a complete social TV experience and dedicate its homepage to connecting users around the debate while watching it on CNBC.

Beginning 90-minutes prior to the start of the debate, CNBC.com will open its “Speaker’s Corner” live at Oakland University.

“Speaker’s Corner” is a live video stream that offers attendees the opportunity to express their unfiltered views of the candidates and the issues being discussed. First rolled out at the Occupy Wall Street protests, “Speaker’s Corner” will re-open following the conclusion of the debate to capture audience reaction.
