Hot Speculative Play: Cheniere Energy

Mad Money's Cramer discusses natural gas strategies and risk, with Charif Souki, Cheniere Energy CEO.

Cheniere Energy has become a hot speculative stock thanks to the natural gas boom in the U.S., "Mad Money" host Jim Cramer said Tuesday.

He's an advocate of using nat gas—a "cleaner, cheaper fuel"—to power vehicles, especially since the United States' natural gas reserves have increased enough to fulfill our domestic gas demand for over a century.

But since Americans have yet to adopt nat gas as fuel, companies are looking to export their product to Europe and Asia. And that’s where Cheniere Energy comes in. It develops, constructs and operates liquefied natural gas terminals and pipelines.

“Cheniere has been the hottest speculative stock out there lately because it’s building the first liquefied natural gas or LNG export terminal in American in about 50 years,” Cramer said.
