2011 Top S&P Stocks: No. 16 Estee Lauder

Friday, 9 Dec 2011 | 3:47 PM ET

Estee Lauder stock looked good year-to-date, gaining nearly 37 percent and checking in at No. 16 in the 2011 top S&P stocks countdown.

But now might not be the time to buy, said retail expert Patty Edwards.

Midday Pops & Drops
The midday market movers that might not yet be on your radar.

“This stock has been on fire,” she said. “Its fundamentals are actually incredibly strong all across of their catagories, although they did slide in their most recent earnings call.”

Edwards said she liked Estee Lauder and the fact that it boosted its dividend.

“I do not, however, like the trading motion that we’ve seen in the past month or so,” she said. “Given that, at this point, I think I would be exiting and looking for a better entry.”
