Here's a look at stocks in the S&P 1,500 index that displayed unusual volume in Wednesday's trading session.

S&P 500: Trading volume in Amphenol is up 300 percent over its 10-day average, as the manufacturer of electronic and fiber optic connectors posted fourth-quarter-profit above estimates, and forecast a strong 2012.

S&P MidCap 400: Fulton Financial volume jumped 200 percent over its 10-day average, after the regional bank's fourth-quarter-results missed analysts' expectations.

S&P SmallCap 600: Cash America International volume rose 400 percent over its 10-day average, as the payday lender warned full-year earnings will be below consensus estimates.
