S&P 500: Trading volume in Intuitive Surgical is up 200 percent over its 10-day average, as the manufacturer of surgical systems reported a slight decline in sales and procedures during the latest quarter.
S&P MidCap 400: Sonoco Products volume jumped 200 percent over its 10-day average, after the packaging-material maker cut its earnings forecast for the fourth quarter.
S&P SmallCap 600: NCI volume rose 2,000 percent over its 10-day average, as the government contractor cut its earnings and revenue outlook for 2012, citing uncertainty over certain federal contracts.
