How cool is Michael Grimes?

Grimes is the global co-head of Morgan Stanley's technology investment banking group. He's the guy who is credited with making Morgan Stanley the number one shop for tech IPOs. They were the lead underwriter on the IPOs for LinkedIn, Pandora Media , Grouponand Zynga .

The San Francisco Chronicle profiled him last summer.

If Morgan Stanley does nab the lead underwriting position for Facebook's IPO, this will be the second time, after Groupon, that Grimes won a deal Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein was personally gunning for.
