Last fall, the Knick All Star who became a pro baller right out of high school in 2002 bought a custom house in his native state of Florida. The mansion is in Southwest Ranches, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale, and Stoudemire got it for a discount from the original $4.65 million asking price, according to the real estate website Zillow.com.
The 3-year-old luxury property features soaring ceilings to accommodate the 6-foot-11 Stoudemire and his tallest ball-playing visitors, two bars and a summer (outdoor) kitchen for their enjoyment, a heated pool with waterfalls and slide for their entertainment, and a nine-car garage. Stoudemire also rents a $37,500-a-month apartment in the 99 Jane Street building in New York’s West Village, Zillow says.
