LONDON, 15 March 2012 – CNBC, the leading business and financial news channel, has appointed Anthony Lilleyman to the newly created role of Vice President Commercial, EMEA.

Lilleyman will lead CNBC’s revenue generating divisions and drive the network’s commercial strategy across the EMEA region. He will have responsibility for growing the distribution of the channel, including carriage agreements, commercial licences (businesses, hotel and airlines); managing CNBC’s local affiliate networks; content syndication and business development across the region.

Advertising revenues will fall under a newly created role of Vice President, Advertising Sales for CNBC International, for which an external search is underway.

Lilleyman was previously CFO for CNBC in EMEA, a role that he’s held since 2008. In May 2010 he also took on responsibility for Business Development in EMEA where he led the launch of the European edition of CNBC.com. Prior to joining CNBC, Lilleyman held a number of global financial roles within GE’s Financial Services business, which he joined in 2003. Previously he held several finance and IT positions in the media and telecommunications sectors, in both London and Perth, Australia, where he originally worked and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1995 with Price Waterhouse.

Satpal Brainch, President & Managing Director of CNBC International said, “Anthony’s appointment brings together all of our non-advertising revenue generating parts of the business under one function. His strategic focus and international experience will help drive growth for CNBC and our partners across the region.”
