Mercedes is taking another crack at a small luxury car and this one, coming to the big auto show in Beijing, looks like a winner.
For now, it's being called the Concept Style Coupe, featuring deeply sculptured sides including one crease that runs along the sides and all the way through the headlights. It makes its debut at Auto China later this month.
It's probably a mistake to try to try to offer a description of a car that is best seen in photos, but the top design executive at Mercedes offers this:
"The almost production-standard Concept Style Coupe sets a new benchmark for avant-garde design," says Gorden Wagener in a statement. "Its breathtaking proportions, sinewy fluid surfaces and sculptural lines are the physical expression of our dynamic design idiom."
Does anyone really talk like that?
The car is powered by a 208-horsepower four-cylinder turbocharged engine with the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. It rides on 20-inch wheels.
