Super PAC Ad Mocks Obama as 'Celebrity President'
President Obama's "slow jam" on Jimmy Fallon's show is being used against him, in a new online ad from a GOP group mocking the Democrat as a "celebrity president."
American Crossroads, the super PAC backed by Bush strategist Karl Rove, is out with a Web video deriding Obama's "coolness" and blaming the president for the plight of young people.
It includes clips from Obama's "slow jam" of the news on Fallon's late-night show this week, and the president dancing with Ellen DeGeneres, calling Kanye West a "jackass," and singing Al Green's hit, "Let's Stay Together."
But then the online ad quickly links Obama to some sobering statistics, such as 85 percent of college graduates moving back in with their parents and student loan debt exceeding $1 trillion.
"After four years of a celebrity president, is your life any better?" the ad asks.
The ad is the latest in the back-and-forth in the presidential campaign over young voters, happening this week because of Obama's push for an extension on low interest rates on student loans.
