Some of the highest-rollers from the hedge fund industry and beyond are converging on Las Vegas this week for the SkyBridge Capital Annual SALT Alternatives Conference.

The four-day event through Friday at the Bellagio is sure to move markets, as the conference brings together more than 1,800 leaders from Wall Street, politics, business, and beyond.

More than three dozen panels, speeches and break-out sessions will offer up key insights from some of the investing world’s most respected names.

Leon Cooperman, Phil Falcone, Nouriel Roubini, Kyle Bass, Whitney Tilson, T. Boone Pickens and Daniel Loeb are among the investors scheduled to participate in discussions ranging from "Current Trends in Alternative Investing" to "How Best to Profit in a Macro World," to "Key Perspectives From Value Investing Legends."

And as has been a SALT tradition, a major player on the political scene will deliver a keynote address. This year is no different. On Wednesday evening, I’ll moderate a conversation with Former Vice President Al Gore.

CNBC’s Fast Money Halftime Report broadcasts live from the event with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Joel Greenblatt, Rick Reider and Pierre Lagrange.

In addition, Gary Kaminsky and Kate Kelly will offer up exclusive reports throughout the event.
