Best Buy Picks Spencer Stuart to Lead CEO Search

Best Buy'sboard has hired Spencer Stuart to help it find its next chief executive following the resignation of former CEO Brian Dunn.

Spencer Stuart specializes in recruiting for retail and digital companies.

The retailer's search committee is chaired by Kathy J. Higgins Victor and comprised of independent directors, according to a company statement.

Since Brian Dunn turned in his resignation in the midst of a company probe into his personal conduct last month, George L. "Mike" Mikan III has led the firm as an interim replacement.

The search is expected to take six to nine months, and the company said both internal and external candidates will be considered for the job.
