If you’re building a portfolio for the long-term, we’re hearing you really should have exposure to -- real assets.

According to Jim McDonald, Northern Trust Global Investments Chief Global Strategist, it's a must.

McDonald believes inflation has become one of the more likely ways that the US addresses its debt problem. And in the face of inflation, he says investors who plan to buy and hold long-term, need to own real assets such as real estate, commodities and/or TIPs.
