Facebook's chief technology officer Bret Taylor is leaving the social network later this summer to work on start ups that have not been determined, according to a report.

Taylor's departure comes only one month after the company's rocky initial public offering.

Facebook executives Mike Vernal and Cory Ondreijika will be taking over the company's platform and mobile ventures, according to a Wall Street Journalreport.
