Advisory Board Member - Thomas F. Steyer
Thomas F. Steyer is a senior managing member of Farallon Capital Management LLC and has served as its managing partner since founding the firm in 1986.
He is also a managing director and member of the executive committee of Hellman & Friedman, a San Francisco-based private equity investment firm.
Earlier in his career, he worked for Goldman Sachs, where he had primary responsibility for a substantial number of the firm's merger arbitrage department’s investments.
Steyer and his wife, Kat Taylor, founded One PacificCoast Bank, a sustainable community development bank, along with One PacificCoast Foundation, which provides charitable and educational activities, including programs to increase financial literacy.
He currently serves on the board of trustees of Stanford University, where he established two renewable-energy research institutions to forward his passion for energy reform.
In addition, Steyer has served as a delegate to the Democratic National Conventions in 2004 and 2008, and is a board member of the Center for American Progress.
He graduated from Yale University, summa cum laude in economics and political science, and Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.
