Twitter and Comcast'sNBC Universal are partnering to launch a curated Twitter page that will feature tweets from Olympic athletes, fans, NBC television personalities and others, NBC announced Monday.

The TV network will promote the page on-air and link to different Olympic digital content featuring athletes.

The new page will also have a new tool called the NBC Olympic Twitter Tracker that will present a real-time heat map displaying the minute-by-minute updates of the Olympic conversation.

The new Twitter page can be viewed at Twitter.com/#Olympics.

NBC announced a similar deal with Facebook earlier this month. The NBC Olympics page on Facebook features relevant stories and coverage of the games. It will also have a new feature called Talk Meter, which is a data tool that allows Facebook users to see what Olympics information is trending on the social network.

The Games begin Friday and run through Aug. 12.

People can also follow NBC's official Olympics Twitter account at @NBCOlympics.

Comcast is the majority owner of NBC Universal, the parent of CNBC and CNBC.com.
