On his blog "The Gates Notes," Bill Gates writes, "I enjoy sharing books I’ve read that offer unique perspectives on topics that really interest me, especially related to science, education, health, energy, and global development."

But that's not all the multi-billionaire had to say.

"In the month since I posted my Great Summer Reading list,I was pleasantly surprised to see the number of people who responded with their book recommendations."

So, what kind of recommendations did he get? Here's the Top 10 Reader’s Picks submitted to Gates ... and a last nugget from Bill: "Many of the books recommended were in the fiction category which I found interesting because I tend to read more non-fiction, although I have read 'The Hunger Games' and enjoyed it."

  • The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
  • The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
  • The Art of War by Sun Tzu
  • Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson
  • Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
  • The Grand Design by Stephen Hawking and Leonard Mlodinow
  • Life of Pi by Yann Martel
  • A New Kind of Science by Stephen Wolfram
  • A Rogue’s Guide to Acquisition by Ranak Jones, Jayesh Mehta, Anish Sikri
  • The Alchemist by Paul Coelho

By the way, Gates writes he's currently reading "Thinking, Fast and Slow," by Daniel Kahneman and "The City That Became Safe' by Franklin Zimring” and promises reviews later this summer.
