Google Snags Frommer's Travel Brand

Google is buying Frommer's travel brand from publishing company John Wiley & Sons, both companies announced Monday.

No purchase price was disclosed.

John Wiley & Sons said in early March it planned to sell the Frommer's brand, however, no potential buyers were disclosed.

Googlepurchased the restaurant rating service Zagatlast September. Frommer's will be incorporated into the Zagat team, according to a statement from Google to CNBC.

“The Frommer's team and the quality and scope of their content will be a great addition to the Zagat team. We can’t wait to start working with them on our goal to provide a review for every relevant place in the world,” a Google spokesperson said in a statement to CNBC.
