Does Naked Prince Harry Have a Reality TV Future?
Every morning Squawk Box Europe brings you the latest business news from across the world. Geoff Cutmore, Steve Sedgwick and Karen Tso spend three hours every weekday morning discussing the euro zone debt crisis, corporate earnings and the latest M&A deals. Sometimes though they can go a little off-message and focus on a story that does not really qualify as business news.
On Wednesday the hot non-business story of the day was Prince Harry’s unfortunate night out in Las Vegas which ended with him being photographed in the nudefollowing a game of strip pool in a high roller suite.
Having asked viewers for their view on the latest gaffe from Prince Harry (note he was pictured dressed as Nazi officer at a party in London a few years back), Squawk Box’sviewers rather surprisingly came to the defense of the man who is third in line to the U.K. throne.
“What happens in Vegas should stay in Vegas,” wrote Tom.
“It must be hard to be a young Royal. I'm just glad I was never under that kind of scrutiny.”
“Prince Harry is a breath of fresh air and has hugely increased the popularity of the Royal family globally,” wrote Jeremy.
Others suggested Harry should now consider entering reality TV. “I'm sure there's a place for him on Jersey Shore,” said Julie.
“He is indeed a terrific ambassador for the U.K., and I for one, am delighted that he is enjoying himself in our city of indulgence — Las Vegas,” wrote Paul from California who would like to see some of the heirs of America’s major public figures show similar courage as the young prince.
“He has shown far more courage than most of his contemporaries both (in) the U.K. and here in the U.S. by serving in the military and going to Afghanistan, even though that deployment was rather short-lived. None of Mitt Romney's five sons have shown equivalent courage — their rather weak ‘service to America’ involves campaigning for their father."
Claude from Canada felt Harry had simply picked up some ideas from the Olympics.
“Come on guys, Prince Harry was just playing handball.”
