Are You Making More or Less in Past 3 Years?

Thursday, 23 Aug 2012 | 12:55 PM ET

A report from Pew Research this week finds that middle-income Americans have seen their median net worth remain roughly flat over the past quarter-century, while upper-income families’ net worth grew 87 percent.

Pew also said that the middle class is shrinking. But why? More people are moving to the upper class. Of course some are moving lower, but fewer. (Read more: Did the 'Lost' Middle Class Become Upper Class?).

On the campaign trail, the political rhetoric is certainly a drawing line in the sand between the haves and the have nots. President Obama and Mitt Romney are each making their case for why their vision for America is the right vision to put the country back on a path to prosperity.

That leads us to our Street Poll: Are you making more now than you were 3 years ago?
