The chipmaker Texas Instruments narrowed its expected ranges for third-quarter earnings and revenue Tuesday

The company said it now expects earnings of 38 to 42 cents a share for the quarter, compared to the prior range of 34 to 42 cents.

Texas Instruments also said it now expects revenue of $3.27 billion to $3.41 billion, compared with the prior range of $3.21 billion to $3.47 billion.

Analysts currently expect earnings of 45 cents a share on revenue of $3.35 billion, according to a survey by Thomson Reuters.
