After a year-to-date gain of 20 percent, financial stocks still have room to run, the CNBC’s “Fast Money” pros said Friday.

Rosecliff Capital’s Mike Murphy said that while he liked the banks overall, Wells Fargo was his favorite because of its mortgage exposure.

“Wells Fargo is a core holding you can hold on to long-term,” he said.

Drakon Capital’s Guy Adami’s top pick was USBancorp .

The Q4 Financial Trade
Kayla Tausche reports what investors should know about financials going into the fourth quarter and the FMHR crew weighs in with their top trades for the day.

“Slow and steady wins the race. USB still works,” he said. “I think the selloff in Blackstone, which was recently over $15, is an opportunity.”

Jon Najarian of OptionMonster.com noted that while Goldman Sachs was up 22 percent for the year and Citigroup gained 24 percent, one name had yet to catch up.

“JPMorgan was the laggard here, so that’s the one I’d be looking at going into Q4,” he said.

OptionMonster.com’s Pete Najarian said that he also liked JPMorgan as well as Citigroup.

“I think you can go well either way,” he said. “JPMorgan gives you more dividend yield right now.”
