Beijing, Singapore and London, 2nd November 2012 - CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, has recruited Eunice Yoon as its Senior Correspondent based in China. Yoon returns to CNBC after eight years with CNN International where she was Asia Business Editor and Correspondent, based in Beijing.

In her new role, Yoon has been tasked with deepening CNBC's own coverage of China from its new bureau in Beijing. Her first assignment for the network will be to cover the Chinese leadership transition scheduled for 8 November.

John Casey, VP, News & Programming, CNBC International says: "I'm thrilled we have been able to bring Eunice back to the network. She is an extremely talented correspondent with significant experience covering the political, economic and social trends in China.

"As China moves through its transition, how this impacts on the country itself and the rest of the world is the economic story of this generation. The network is committed to telling this story to the global business community."

During her time in Asia, Yoon has documented the rise of China and its influence across the global economic and geopolitical landscape. She has interviewed newsmakers and tracked economic and business trends, reporting on the lifestyles of the super wealthy as well as the nation's poor.

Throughout her career, Yoon has reported on many major news events. She was one of the first journalists to reach the Sichuan earthquake zone in 2008. She also reported on issues surrounding the Beijing Olympics. Her reports on the Asian tsunami in 2004 ensured she was part of the team that won a prestigious DuPont Award

Yoon commented: "I'm excited to be coming back to CNBC. The network is acknowledged as the leading destination for business and financial content worldwide, with a highly influential audience. My new role will allow me to bring China's economic story to the world's business community at this critical juncture in the nation's history."

Yoon joins the network on 5 November 2012.
