Advanced Micro Says No Plans for Sale: Report

Advanced Micro said it is not planning a sale of the company or any significant asset sale, according to a report.
An earlier Reuters report had suggested that the company had hired JPMorgan Chase to explore options, which may have included a potential sale of the company. But according to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the company says no such plans are in the works.
Shares had jumped 5 percent in regular trading on news of a possible sale, then fell after-hours as the report was shot down. Click here for the latest after-hours quote.
