BATON ROUGE, La.-- Louisiana's state-run property insurer of last resort says it's settled 85 percent of the more than 17,000 claims it received about damage from Hurricane Isaac. The company _ Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation _ said Monday that it expects Isaac to cost between $75 million and $100 million.
NEW ORLEANS-- A colorful and musical New Orleans neighborhood is marking the 200th anniversary of its origins as an early melting pot for the city and the nation. It was born from immigration that followed the Haitian revolution of the early 1800 s and named for French milliner and property owner Claude Treme.
Shares of Amedisys Inc. sank in premarket trading Monday after the home health care provider said its annual revenue from health insurer Humana Inc. will shrink. Amedisys, based in Baton Rouge, La., said a new agreement with Humana will generate about half of the roughly $65 million to $70 million it has produced.
Texas- based oilfield services company Baker Hughes Inc. reported Friday that 1,411 rigs were exploring for oil and 422 were searching for gas. Of the major oil- and gas-producing states, Texas gained four rigs while Alaska, New Mexico and Oklahoma gained one apiece. Arkansas, Colorado, North Dakota and Wyoming lost one rig apiece.

OKLAHOMA CITY-- Oklahoma-based Devon Energy Corp. says it will close its office in Houston and transfer operations to Oklahoma City. The oil and gas company has about 500 employees in its Houston office, which now serves as the operations center for Devon's oil and natural gas fields in south and east Texas and Louisiana.
DENVER-- Forest Oil is selling all of its South Louisiana properties for about $220 million as part of its plan to shed some non-core assets. Forest Oil Corp. previously announced that it is selling its East Texas natural gas gathering assets for $34 million. The Eagle Ford shale formation stretches from the western Texas- Mexico border to Louisiana.
