SALT LAKE CITY-- Utah's September foreclosure rate remains the 16th highest in the nation for a second month. Data released Thursday by RealtyTrac Inc. shows that one in every 903 Utah housing units saw a foreclosure filing in September. Florida, California, Illinois, Arizona and Nevada had the highest foreclosure rates in the nation in August.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- The developer of a Hard Rock-themed casino has gotten support from the nonprofit Missouri River Historical Development board to build a casino and entertainment center near the Missouri River in Sioux City, Iowa. Warner and the board must obtain a license from the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission.
LAS VEGAS-- Nevada's foreclosure rate remains fifth in the nation after big drops in activity compared with last year. RealtyTrac reports Thursday that Nevada's September foreclosure rate is down 19 percent from August and down more than 75 percent from the same time last year. That rate fell behind Florida, California, Illinois and Arizona.

WASHINGTON-- A Federal Reserve survey released Wednesday found that the economy grew modestly in the late summer, bolstered by solid gains in housing. The report is based on anecdotal information from the regional districts and covers the period from mid-August to Sept. 28. The region's economy expanded modestly.

CARSON CITY, Nev.-- State officials say Nevada casino revenues are down 3.1 percent in August compared with the same time a year ago. The Nevada Gaming Control Board reports casinos won $859 million in August. Washoe County winnings of $68 million were up 5 percent, while south Lake Tahoe winnings of $22 million were down 19.5 percent.
CARSON CITY, Nev.-- State education officials say Nevada is being awarded a $21 million federal grant over seven years to continue an education program designed to help low-income and disadvantaged students prepare for college. Nevada officials say 4,000 Nevada students have benefited from $30 million in federal GEAR UP grants received over the past 11 years.
LAS VEGAS-- Nevada's average gas price is $3.93 per gallon after northern city prices shot up in line with California and southern cities trailed far behind. AAA says Tuesday that some northern Nevada metropolitan areas supplied by California saw their fuel prices jump 24 cents in a single week.
CHEYENNE, Wyo.-- Interior Secretary Ken Salazar on Tuesday authorized what he described as potentially the largest wind energy project in the United States, if not the world: A Wyoming wind farm with up to 1,000 turbines that would provide electricity to some 1 million homes.
LAS VEGAS-- Home prices in the Las Vegas area are up for the eighth month in a row, while the number of homes sold in September is down from a year ago. The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors reports Tuesday that the median price of a single-family home sold in September was $140,000, up 1.4 percent from August and nearly 14 percent from last September.
COLUMBUS, Ohio-- The $400 million Hollywood Casino Columbus opened Monday in Ohio's capital, welcoming hundreds of people who had waited on a chilly morning to be among the first placing bets at the table games and about 3,000 slot machines.
